First week in Real Estate School down and week two underway. Things haven’t necessarily gotten easier, I’ve just learned to accept that it’s not going to be painless. I will end up with a few bumps and bruises but what fight was ever worth winning without battle wounds and scars to brag about? Of course, in this case, I’m battling the cob webs in the learning part of my brain. Over the weekend I started my one online course which is Real Estate Finance. Yep, you heard right… I’m taking a finance class! It’s going very slow, about 2 hours spent per chapter, but it’s taking a bit longer for me to comprehend some of the information. However, I AM actually understanding. My poor hand is sore from all the writing (online courses do not come with books), which I thought it would be used to since I love to write (novels, childrens’ stories, journals). Oh well, another battle scar.
That’s about all I have time to say for now. My time is now very valuable. I try to cram as much real estate info in as I can after class, eating at some point, then fall asleep reading BBC History Magazine, or some such similar.
Next week, even though my classes at Kaplan are finished, I will be going back to the Exit Advantage Realty office to continue with their FasTrack training. Knowing that I’ll be able to train and observe real-world, learning how to apply the bare facts Kaplan teaches me, (but not practicing or advising as an agent) before even taking my state exam is very encouraging. I’m very excited to be part of their team!
